CROSAT Elects New Leadership Team for 2026–2028 Tenure
December 30, 2025The Crop Science Association of Tanzania (CROSAT) successfully held its 4th Annual General Meeting and Seminar on December 4th and 5th at the Parrot Hotel in Arusha, Tanzania.
This year’s theme, “Advancing Climate-Resilient Crop Productivity through Sustainable Soil and Water Management Practices,” brought together more than 100 experts to discuss the future of Tanzanian agriculture.

During the event, CROSAT President, Prof. Kallunde Sibuga, invited the Guest of Honor, Hon. Mizengo Pinda, to serve as the association’s Patron. Hon Pinda accepted the invitation, agreed to support CROSAT’s mission of applying science to advance the agricultural sector.

In his speech, Hon. Pinda congratulated CROSAT on its progress and urged members to channel their energy into research that provides scalable, real-world solutions to increase production and income for farmers.

He added that the government values the role of CROSAT and other professional societies in bridging the gap between research and extension services.
Hon. Pinda concluded his speech by urging CROSAT members to work together to help fulfill major frameworks, including the Agricultural Sector Development Programme Phase II (ASDP II), the Agriculture Master Plan (AMP), Agenda 10/30, the Third Five-Year Development Plan (FYDP III), and the National Development Vision 2050.
